Toyota is hoping to entice more new car buyers to its brand by offering more equipment and trim levels in its entry level Toyota Auris model. Adequately named “Toyota Auris Edition” it replaces the previous T2 trim model, it is available in 3 and 5 door formats. The TR and SR trim levels have also seen some additions, now offering premium features as standard. The models will offer more exterior trim as well as interior trim.
The Toyota Auris Edition now comes with 16 inch alloy wheels, heated and retractable door mirrors which are, along with door handles, colour matched to the bodywork. This is in addition to previous standard features including air conditioning and a four-speaker sound system with USB port. New customer specified options include Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with Traction Control (TRC) and a Protection Pack for the five-door version which includes floor mats, mud flaps, boot liner and scuff plates.
The Auris Edition will be available with Toyota’s Optimal Drive 1.33-litre VVT-i petrol engine, with Stop & Start and six speed manual transmission is available for both the three and five door models. Fuel consumption features are 48.7mpg combined cycle and 135g/km CO2 emissions.
